TRAVIS KELCE has released a rare public statement appearing to deny claims of a $3.3million donation to charity.
It had been reported that the Chiefs star spent that amount helping to transform a house in Kansas City to a living facility for young homeless people.

But, speaking on the latest episode of New Heights, Kelce said: “I gotta make a little statement in the ‘don’t believe everything you read kids’ category. A nice realm that you see online.
“Some false claims were thrown out there that I was doing something in the community that I was not.
“I’m not even going to talk about it specifically.
“I don’t want to bring any more attention to that whole nonsense and article and all that stuff.

“But if you ever want to know exactly what I’m doing in the community, just go to 87 and Running.
“We’re always trying to get out there and get in the Kansas City communities and the Cleveland community.
“But you know, this time, I wasn’t doing what was falsely claimed by the social channels or all the outlets posting this AI stuff so I just wanted to set the record straight.
“Appreciate everybody for always trying to show love, especially Pat McAfee.
“He’s always trying to look out for the guys and women in the sports world.”
The story about Kelce’s charity work spread wildly online and was even repeated by Pat McAfee on his ESPN show.
He said: “I love this type of stuff.
“Obviously a lot of negative gets covered around the NFL and professional athletics…
“Obviously the conversation around Travis Kelce is that he is a GOAT at the tight end position, obviously very successful at football.
“But there are people that just naturally hate him because he’s very popular, very famous.
“Especially now because he’s dating the most popular and famous person in the world in Taylor Swift.
“So him giving back, making the world a better place, I think should be chatted about. “
Kelce does do plenty of charity work via his 87 & Running foundation.
The charity was created in 2015 and aims to provide disadvantaged youth with support and mentorship.
But Taylor Swift’s boyfriend is no longer the top earning tight-end in the NFL.
Kelce is set to return to the Chiefs as he looks to win back the Super Bowl next year following their defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.
He is currently in the second year of a two-year $34.25m deal.
But Arizona Cardinals’ Trey McBride penned a four-year $76m extension last week.
