Moicano vs Dariush – Round Three
Some brilliant scrambles follow a successful takedown from Dariush.
But they return to the feet just after the two-minute mark and go back to counter boxing.
Dariush is having more success with his left hand than I envisaged.
The fight briefly hits the mat with just over a minute and a half of the round remaining.
The horn goes after a failed takedown attempt from Moicano. I have Dariush winning this by two rounds to one.

Dariush stifles a takedown attempt from Moicano shortly after the restart.
And he’s now out grappling Moicano against the fence, something I didn’t expect to see.
Fans aren’t happy with Moicano being kept on the ground with relentless top pressure from Dariush, who has well and truly blown off the cobwebs following that knockdown late in the first.

Dariush vs Moicano – Round One
Moicano takes the centre of the octagon and puts southpaw Dariush on the back foot.
Dariush chips away at the legs of Moicano with two hard low kicks. And a third echoes throughout the arena.
Moicano’s first attempt to ground the fight is stuffed but he lands a good knee to the body after the unsuccessful shot.
Moicano gets dropped by a hard leg kick but returns to his feet, albeit compromised.
Moicano is getting the better of the boxing exchanges, but none of his shots have hurt Dariush yet.
Just as I say that, Dariush gets dropped and is scrambling to fend off Moicano’s attempts to take the back.
Defend it he does and he manages to make it back to his feet before seeing off another onslaught from ‘Money’ just before the horn.

Lightweights on show
We move to our first of two lightweight offerings tonight.
Fan favourite Renato ‘Money’ Moicano is about to take on Beneil Dariush.
The pair were, of course, set to throw down at UFC 311 in January but Moicano got the call to fight former champ Islam Makhachev on short notice.
