Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is one of the most successful games to work on Apple Silicon-powered Mac, and it is finally launching on July 17. As the game designer CD Projekt Red promised, the whole open-world RPG experience that involves and includes all the post-release content as well as the Phantom Liberty expansion will be available on Apple App Store Mac, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
Native Support for Apple Silicon
The version is meant to run natively on M1 or newer chip-based devices, with compatibility on macOS 15.5 or later, and it requires at least 16GB of unified memory. Among things that are so exciting with this release is that Apple has inculcated more metalFX technologies. The MetalFX Frame Interpolation will support up to 120 fps in the best available settings, whereas the real-time path tracing will allow games to render with cinematic quality.
Availability
Players will be able to purchase the game from a variety of storefronts including Mac App Store, Steam, GOG.com, and the Epic Games Store. This ensures wide accessibility regardless of user preference or ecosystem.
Features
Cyberpunk 2077 is already being driven to 120fps with the highest graphics settings via the MetalFX upscaling, MetalFX Frame Interpolation and MetalFX Denoising, all of which will be utilized fully. Real-time path tracing will also be a possibility in compatible models and thus, the effect is movie-like in regard to the lighting effect.
Also, spatial audio based on head tracking will be supported, and every Mac will have access to “For this Mac” graphics settings which are specifically optimized to work.
The game will support cross-progression, allowing players to pick up where they left off on any platform. It also works seamlessly with game controllers, Magic Mouse, and Trackpad, offering flexibility in how players interact with the game.
