The Ultra Ethernet Consortium today published the UEC Specification 1.0 release. Nearly two years ago the Ultra Ethernet Consortium was started by Intel, AMD, Meta, HPE, and others and hosted by the Linux Foundation for open and high performance networking with an emphasis on AI and HPC.
The Ultra Ethernet 1.0 specification had been planning for a Q3-2024 release but now into Q2-2025, Ultra Ethernet UEC 1.0 was just released. The UEC 1.0 specification is focused on high performance, scalable, and interoperable solutions across all layers of the networking stack and with an emphasis on multi-vendor integration.

UEC delivers on modern RDMA for Ethernet and IP, open standards and interoperability, and end-to-end scalability.
