AN URGENT warning has been issued for an Amazon gadget that could have helped many keep themselves warm in winter.
With a “high risk of fire”, it is thought the product could pose particularly dangerous with a fuse that “may explode”.
The High Efficiency Fan Heater was previously sold on Amazon and would likely have been picked up by those looking for cost effective ways to stay warm.
As temperatures have dropped in recent months, many have focused their attention on cheap and efficient tech to heat their homes.
A report issued last week by the Office for Product Safety and Standards has revealed the heater presents a “high risk” if inadequately earthed.
Not only has the product been rejected at the border, the online marketplace has removed the listing.
Yet, those who have recently got their hands on a warming gadget might want to make sure they have not purchased the recalled item.
Detailing the hazard, the urgent warning has suggested the product does not meet the requirements to ensure people, pets and property are kept safe.
It also requires improvement to marking, labelling and documentation.
The main cords were also found to have excessive resistance.
Described as a White fan heater with black vents, the product was originally produced in China.
A picture of the packaging for the product shows the heater on a white table next to a vase.
The code used to identify the potentially faulty heater on Amazon before it was taken down was FBA15M7LMHDU00003.
It comes after an urgent recall of Christmas candles was issued after they were found to post a “serious risk of fires”.
Found to continue smoking for an “excessive” amount of time, The Cornish Christmas Candles by The St Ives Co were recalled last week.
Anyone who owns the item, which is in a black glass container with a screw-top lid, has been warned to stop.
