US President Donald Trump said on social media that the government will allow NVIDIA to sell its H200 AI chips to China, on the condition that the company pays a 25% royalty to the US government on each unit sold. The measure will also apply to Intel, AMD and other chipmakers, with sales restricted to “approved customers,” Trump said. NVIDIA said it welcomed the decision, calling it a “balanced approach” that would support high-paying US jobs and domestic manufacturing. The company added that the approval to supply H200 chips to Commerce Department-vetted commercial clients “serves the interests of all parties.” [Jiwei, in Chinese]
