The United States has added 80 organizations and companies, especially from China, to its blacklist of exports To try that the country can be done with key technology and use it for military purposes, as they point out from the government. These new restrictions, which has announced the Office of Industry and Security of the US Department of Commerce are also an attempt to prevent external agents from accessing the latest generation chips from the United States, and to hinder their advances in AI and advanced computing. They will not be the last, despite the complaints about NVIDIA and several groups of the semiconductor sector.

The vast majority of these entities are in China, although several are in Iran, Taiwan, Pakistan, South Africa and Arab Emirates. Twelve of them, eleven in China and one in Taiwan, are related to tasks related to AI and supercomputing for the Chinese army. Seven of China’s entities work in the development of quantum technology for military use, and two others supplied components already restricted to Huawei and Hysilicon. Other organizations supported China’s military and nuclear programs in different ways, or supplied the United States components to China or Iran.

According to the Department of Commerce, the restrictions have been applied to entities that have acted in a way «contrary to the national security of the United States, as well as its foreign policy«. Its purpose is to complicate China’s ability to develop high -performance functions and elements, quantum technologies, advanced artificial intelligence and hypersonic weapons.

Six of these new organizations and companies added to the list are INSPUR Group subsidiariesthe main provider of cloud computer services and manufacturers of China servers, and one of the main clients of several American chip manufacturers. Among them, from Nvidia, AMD and Intel.

Henan Dingxin Information Industry, Nettrix Information Industry, Sum Technology and Suma-Usi Electronics have been included in the list for supporting the development of Exaescala superoring. Specifically, for providing Hardware from Intel and NVIDIA and Microsoft software, as well as manufacturing capacity, to Sugon, a super -tank manufacturer who was already on the blacklist and is linked to China’s modernization of defense. Basically, they would have supplied essential infrastructure for the development of high performance computing and for simulations of large -scale precision systems that are used in the development of aircraft, missiles and other weapons.

The Beijing Artificial Intelligence Academy is also on the list (Beijin). Those responsible have criticized their inclusion in it through a statement sent to Associated Press, in which they point out that they are «surprised that a non -profit scientific institution has been added to the list of entities«.

They also indicate their opposition to a decision that, they say, has been taken without being based on facts, and ask the corresponding US departments to withdraw them from said list. China’s Foreign Minister has also condemned export controls, ensuring that the increase in blacklists «seriously violates international law and basic norms of international relations«.
