Vivo recently unveiled two new smartphones – the Vivo X Fold 5 and the Vivo X200 FE – in the Indian market. Now, a Chinese tipster has revealed key camera details of an upcoming Vivo smartphone – possibly a part of the X300 lineup. The leakster took to Chinese microblogging site Weibo to post about the imaging-focused flagship device.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, an upcoming Vivo flagship will feature a 200MP 1/1.4-inch main rear camera. It will be paired with a 50MP ultra-wide shooter and a 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The setup will reportedly house a new prism-based optical image stabilization.
The upcoming Vivo flagship could come with a 6.3-inch display with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The device is very likely to be launched as the Vivo X300.
To give you an idea, the Vivo X200 launched in October last year in China. It sports a 6.67-inch quad-curved AMOLED display and runs on MediaTek Dimensity 9400. For photography, the X200 features a ZEISS-tuned 50MP triple camera setup. Under the hood, it packs a 5,800mAh battery unit that supports 90W fast wired charging. The upcoming Vivo X300 could overshadow the competitors in mobile imaging.
In another leak, Digital Chat Station mentioned that Vivo is now working on bringing the 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor to the main cameras on its flagships. The brand has earlier used 200MP periscope lenses on flagship devices like the Vivo X100 Ultra and Vivo X200 Pro. The Samsung HP9 sensor can record 8K videos at 30fps and 4K videos at 120fps. It uses Tetrapixel technology to adapt pixel sizes dynamically to improve image quality both in bright and dark conditions, also enhancing the HDR (high dynamic range) performance in high-contrast environments.
