London-based voice processing startup RocketPhone.ai has raised $10.5m to fund the continued development of its AI-powered platform.
The startup hopes to commercialise its platform by launching a video analysis tool in the coming months.
RocketPhone did not disclose the source of the funding, but said it did not include money from any venture capital firms.
Founded in 2017, RocketPhone.ai provides voice processing software for sales and customer service teams. It listens to customer and sales conversations in order to record identifiers for follow up activity and automates actions.
Commenting on the funding round, Muj Choudhury, co-founder and CEO of RocketPhone, said “The funds raised will fuel the next stage of innovation.”
“The development of our video analysis tool marks a step-change in how AI will shape the future of sales, creating new opportunities for businesses to drive better engagement between agents and consumers across all channels.”
At the same time, the firm has appointed Michael Wooldridge, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, to its advisory board as its new Chief Science Officer.
RocketPhone says the professor will “play a critical role in the ongoing development of RocketPhone’s AI-native product suite”.

The boost in RocketPhone’s AI funding comes in the wake of the publication of the UK government’s AI Opportunities Action Plan which lays out the country’s approach to capitalising on the technology.
It promises to allow AI-related infrastructure to be built quicker and push for public and private sectors to adopt the technology.
