Samsung is finally ready to release the S25 Edge, its thinnest Galaxy phone yet

Last week, Samsung released a video clip featuring the words “Beyond slim” next to what looks like a silhouette of the phone. It teased more details to come tonight during a special event that’ll be streamed on Samsung.com. The virtual event will start at 8 p.m. EST and be live-streamed on its official YouTube channel (embedded above).

Rumors suggest the Galaxy S25 Edge will launch on May 30. The company first showed off the mysterious device in January at the S25 Unpacked event, though it didn’t let attendees touch it.

The phone didn’t exactly look groundbreaking, considering Samsung’s existing S25 phones are already fairly thin, between 0.28 to 0.34 inches, depending on the model. Still, Samsung is hyping up the S25 Edge as more than just a “slim smartphone.”

“By pushing the boundaries of mobile technology, we’re going beyond what users expect and opening up new possibilities,” Samsung said in a statement. “The latest addition to the Galaxy S series is both a powerful AI companion and an engineering marvel, merging flagship-level performance with superior portability.”

Samsung confirms that the S25 Edge will feature at least a 200-megapixel camera, which can also be found on the S25 Ultra. Samsung adds: “As the newest edition to the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 Edge embodies the ultimate camera experience – and takes it one step further with mobile AI that empowers users to reach new creative realms in every aspect of mobile photography, from capturing to editing and sharing.”

It also says the phone will feature Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, a new glass ceramic covering that promises “advanced protection” for thinner devices.

Stay tuned for more details on pricing and other specs from tonight’s event. Until then, you can register your interest in buying the S25 Edge right now and get a $50 Samsung credit toward your next Galaxy device purchase on Samsung.com and the Shop Samsung app.
