Netflix is the streaming service with the most original new movies and shows, but to make room for the fresh stuff, some of the content you’ve always wanted to watch—and have had on your to-watch list for months—must be removed from the service.
That’s because Netflix doesn’t own everything it streams. Its contracts with networks, production companies, and movie studios mean its programming constantly changes. So, each month, we keep you up to date with a list of what’s leaving. We’ll highlight our top picks for what you should view in February before they’re gone, and below that, we’ll share the full list.
The Fast & The Furious Series (Feb. 11)
It’s about family, but apparently, Netflix isn’t family anymore. All the Fast & Furious movies will be speeding away on Feb. 11. If there’s a series that lends itself to marathon watching, it’s this one, as it evolves from a humble and gritty street racing flick to some of the most over-the-top action you’ll find anywhere. The Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast Five, and Fast & Furious 6 all leave mid-month.
Southpaw (Feb. 20)
Boxing is one of the best sports to make movies about, and 2015’s Southpaw is a good example of why. Propulsively directed by Antoine Fuqua, it features an excellent lead performance from Jake Gyllenhaal as Billy Hope, who sees his life fall apart after his wife gets shot. He then has to rebuild his relationship with his daughter while also preparing for the most important fight of his life.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Seasons 1-2 (Feb. 25)
This whole series is streaming on Peacock, but if you don’t want to sign up for yet another streaming service, take a day to binge-watch the first two seasons of the quite funny Brooklyn Nine-Nine before it leaves Netflix. Andy Samberg leads one of the best ensemble casts in recent history through absurd cases, weird interpersonal dynamics, and whatever the heck Hitchcock and Scully are. (Oddly, seasons 5 and 6 are coming to Netflix on Feb. 26.)
