THE Premier League is back, but watching your favourite teams play in the comfort of your own home isn’t getting any cheaper.

However, you could bag some killer savings without missing out on any of the action with our handy tips below.

In the UK, broadcast rights are shared between Sky Sports and TNT Sports – with highlights appearing on the BBC.

This year, Sky has 215 live matches, while TNT has 52.

The standard price for Sky Sports is about £33, and TNT’s starts at £30.99.

So what is your best option to save? Read on below for our full advice – including a clever trick that could bag you a projector to watch matches in style this summer at no extra cost.

#1 Existing TV deals

Your first – and most obvious – port of call is to check offers from any existing TV subscriptions you have.

Sky lets you add Sky Sports to a package for £20, instead of the usual £33.

#2 Switch TV provider

You might want to consider switching to a new premium TV provider to save big, depending on how much you’re currently paying.

Virgin Media has recently had offers for TV and broadband, with Sky Sports included – as well as a free TV thrown in – starting from £54.99 a month.

Given that Sky Sports alone can cost £30.99 this may well work out to be a huge price cut overall, not only on TV costs but your broadband too.

Another option is trying lesser-known TV providers, such as EE TV.

If you’re a BT Broadband customer already, you can add EE TV which includes TNT Sports for £23 a month (For Sky Sports as well, it’s £48 in total).

#3 Sky Sports’ new saver option

Another option to keep up with the Premier League is NOW (formerly known as NOW TV and owned by Sky).

The platform recently added a new saver option that’s not only cheaper but ties you into a much shorter contract if you don’t like 24 months.

For a year, you can pay £26 a month.

#4 Day pass

If you’re only interested in the odd game here and there for your own team, then a lengthy subscription for months on end is a massive turn-off.

NOW also has day membership passes for £14.99 that last 24 hours from the moment you sign up, with full access to all 12 Sky Sports channels instantly.

#5 NOW retention deals

NOW is well known for offering retention deals too, without the hassle of haggling on the phone.

If you’re out of contract, go through to the cancellation pages to see whether any offers are thrown back at you.

#6 Buy a gadget – and get TNT Sports included at no extra cost

This purchase hack allows you to watch matches in style over the summer while paying far less for access to TNT Sports.

EE includes access to TNT Sports with some pay-monthly gadgets it sells, such as a Samsung projector.

The Freestyle 2nd Gen projector costs £22 a month for 24 months – that’s cheaper than paying £30.99 for TNT Sports every month, plus you get a cool gadget thrown in.

These offers are only open to existing EE customers though.

All prices in this article were correct at the time of writing, but may have since changed.

Always do your own research before making any purchase.
