Home appliances are becoming increasingly advanced and complex devices. Nowadays it is normal to be programming the robot vacuum cleaner from mobile or downloading updates for the coffee maker. “Dumb” home gadgets are becoming a bit dated, as more and more products come to market with smart features.
A good reflection of what we just mentioned is LG’s latest device. The South Korean manufacturer has presented a microwave with a screen and speakers. These are two additions that do not go unnoticed, as they not only promise to improve usual functionality, such as reheating dishes, but also offer entertainment options in the kitchen.
An LG microwave with screen and speakers
It is not common to associate microwaves with entertainment, but for LG this combination is the most natural. The new microwave LG SIGNATURE It debuts a touch screen panel with 27-inch Full-HD resolution that, according to the company, will allow us to enjoy content while we enjoy, although it is still not clear which operating system it will use.
We can use the appliance screen to access LG’s ThinQ Smart Home control panel to control compatible Matter and Thread devices. As if this were not enough, we will also have the possibility of pairing the device with the LG induction deep dish, which will allow us to control the cooking process “without the need to bend down.”
The South Korean manufacturer plans to offer more details about this and other devices during CES 2025, which will be held in January in Las Vegas. It remains to be seen if this screen will also serve as a means to display adsa practice that has been present for some time on some televisions from both LG and other brands.
It should be noted that this is not the first LG appliance with a screen. In its catalog we can also find refrigerators and washing machines with this addition. Are screens the only way? We don’t know, but we do know that in the automotive world, where screens came to conquer everything, some manufacturers have decided to back down.
