Stranger Things is eagerly awaited, and that’s an understatement to say. Nearly a decade after its launch, the Duffer brothers’ series will deliver a fifth and final round of episodes on Netflix in 2025. It’s now been more than two years since Eleven, Mike, Dustin and the others last showed the tip of their noses. Between the actors’ and writers’ strike and the desire to do well, the process took longer than expected. Netflix has understood that its users are getting impatient, and is taking advantage of the imminent end of the year to provide some news. Filming is in full swing with the latest news, and real images should not be shared for several months. On YouTube, however, a new video has created impatience among early fans. They will obviously recognize the generic red neon and musicaccompanied by crucial information on how this conclusion played out. The list of eight episodes is no longer a secret.

If the first episode leaves little room for doubt as to the nature of the creatures which will be at the epicenter of the story, the second already poses a major question. Which of our heroes will disappear? The name has been censored to avoid spoilers; some internet sleuths think they see Wheeler’s name there. As a reminder, this title is a direct reference to the first episode of the series and the disappearance of Will Byers. The name Turnbow Trap has already been mentioned by the creators at detour from a post on Instagram. There was an advertisement for a fictitious company, specialized in construction. Finally, the title of episode 8 “The Rightside up” confirms its status as a huge conclusion to the heroes’ adventures. After years of battling the Upside Down, this chapter may well be behind Hawkins.
“In the fall of 1987, one last adventure begins…”
On the plot side, the caption which accompanies this announcement confirms that an ellipse is on the program. Season 4 evolved at spring 1986, more than six months have passed since Vecna apparently managed to open a portal between the two worlds. Is Max still between life and death? Was Hawkins evacuated? Is the big bad as free as the air? No certainty for the spectators, except the assurance that this time will be the right one and that the end of the journey is near. Answer in 2025.
