This is how Eduardo Ordax, Generative AI Specialist at AWS for EMEA, defines the most important paradigm shift facing the technology sector. In the new Orbital Vision 2026 yearbook, the expert analyzes how Artificial Intelligence leaves behind its passive role to become an actor with real autonomy.

If the last year has been marked by the fascination of interacting with chatbots capable of writing and conversing, the immediate future belongs to a different technology: Agentic AI. In an in-depth interview granted for the new edition of Orbital VisionEduardo Ordax explains why this evolution represents a before and after for companies.

“Agentic AI represents a significant qualitative leap,” explains Ordax in the book. The fundamental difference lies in the execution capacity. While current models expect precise instructions to perform isolated tasks, new agents have the ability to reason, plan sequences of steps and, above all, pursue complex goals without the need for constant supervision in each micro-task.

The end of the single model

In addition to autonomy, the interview addresses another common myth in enterprise adoption of AI: the search for a “silver bullet.” Ordax is forceful about this in its analysis: “There is no single or dominant model, since each use case may require a different model.”

For the AWS expert, success does not lie in betting everything on a single algorithm, but in having the architectural flexibility to choose the right tool—whether for latency, cost, or reasoning ability—for each specific problem.

The complete conversation offers essential insight into understanding how to orchestrate these new agents and how to prepare corporate infrastructure for an era where software not only obeys, but acts.
