Are you getting ready for holiday travel? Maybe looking at plane tickets and hoping against hope you’ll somehow find some great deals for the day before Thanksgiving? Well, my colleague Amy Spitzfaden-Both has a great holiday travel tip for you:

Do you ever come across an app that is so handy you want to shout it from the rooftops? After some ill-fated summer travel, I received an email from a company called AirHelp telling me that I was entitled to compensation for a cancelled flight. I was wary, but after I looked into it, not only did it turn out the company was legit, but I walked away with a significant amount of money in my pocket, thanks to AirHelp and an EU law I wasn’t aware of.

AirHelp is free to download and use, getting payment by taking a percentage of the compensation it gets for you. Just load it up before you travel, enter your flight info, and it will track cancellations and delays.  It not only lets you know if you’re entitled to compensation, but it will get your money for you.
