Apple Wallet’s Digital ID support is now available in West Virginia, Governor Patrick Morrisey announced on Thursday.

Residents of the state can now add their driver’s license or other state-issued IDs to the Wallet app and present them for verification at TSA checkpoints via the iPhone or Apple Watch.

To add a driver’s license to your Apple Wallet, tap the + (plus) sign at the top right of the interface, select Driver’s license or State ID, your state, and follow the on-screen instructions to scan the front and back of your ID.

To present your ID at TSA checkpoints, double-click the side button of your iPhone or Apple Watch, select your ID, and hold the display close to a reader. You may be required to authenticate the data being shared by double-clicking the side button once again.

Digital IDs are valid across 250 airports in the US, including the Charleston Yeager Airport and Huntington Tri-State Airport in West Virginia. It’s also working on making them valid at select retailers and organizations across the state. However, since they are not accepted everywhere, residents should carry their physical IDs wherever required, Morrisey notes.

West Virginia becomes the 12th US state to support Digital IDs in Apple Wallet. It will soon support mobile IDs in the Google Wallet app as well.

Other states that support digital IDs in Apple Wallet include Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Maryland, New Mexico, North Dakota, Montana, and Ohio.

Apple, meanwhile, is planning to bring passport support to the Wallet app later this year.
