This special, one-of-a-kind edition of the DAB 1α adopts a stainless steel fascia reminiscent of the futuristic silver bodywork of the DeLorean. Among the nods to the film, the motorcycle sports an “OUTTATIME” license plate, a fake “flux capacitor” and a speedometer limited to 88 miles per hour, the speed necessary for time travel (in Back to the futureat least). Exposed wires and CNC-machined aluminum rims echo the technical details of the DeLorean, with its industrial and avant-garde aesthetic.
The flux capacitor is in place
The references to the film don’t stop there. DAB Motors also incorporated “DBMC” side badges, in homage to the DeLorean’s “DMC” logo, and vents inspired by the exhaust system of Doc Brown’s car. Simon Dabadie, founder of DAB Motors, explains that this very special creation is the symbol of his commitment to blending technology with design. “ The DeLorean DMC-12 redefined automotive aesthetics, and through this motorcycle we seek to capture that spirit of daring ».
The standard DAB 1α, whose Price is around 14,900 euros, has an 11 kW electric motor and a 7.1 kWh lithium-ion battery, giving a range of around 150 kilometers. With this special DeLorean version, DAB Motors pushes the style exercise by adding aesthetic elements from the world of Robert Zemeckis’ saga. The motorcycle, however, remains a unique piece. Fans of the film who would like to relive the adventures of Marty McFly will have to register on a waiting list and prepare to pay nearly 30,000 euros to access this exclusive model!
Created in 2018 by Simon Dabadie, DAB Motors has found its place in the electric motorcycle market. Based in Bayonne, the company has notably collaborated with brands like Burberry and celebrities like Rosalía and J Balvin, thus becoming a manufacturer that counts for lovers of original creations. The DAB 1α is not its first foray into the field: we already owe it models inspired by the Olympic Games and retro games. DAB Motors was bought last year by Peugeot Motorcycles.
