The AI-based tool will most probably let the users rewrite messages using one of seven filters – Funny, Puns, Supportive, Spooky, Sarcastic, Shorter, and Rephrase. The report also suggested that when the feature is available, the users will get to see a pencil button next to the text editor by tapping on which they will be able to use the AI editing tools.
As of now, the feature is still under development. As stated by Android Authority, the code for the same has been found on WhatsApp version 2.25.85 which means the users will be able to get their hands on the feature in the near future.
Apart from that, WhatsApp is also working on a feature that will let users create collages of photos along with status updates. Users will be able to select the images in a grid with a maximum capacity of six images. The feature will be shown in the app under a second layout option that will appear with the music, text, and voice options while making a status update.
