It’s already clear to many that Bitcoin is the best asset. That’s just financial literacy, read a chart, and the evidence is obvious.

But that misses the bigger opportunity. Bitcoin went live in 2009, and despite a trillion-dollar market cap and deep roots in emerging markets, its true potential still hasn’t been reached. The promise isn’t speculation. It’s unlocking value the way the internet unlocked information.

Bitcoin is an open, decentralized, neutral monetary network that works for anyone, anywhere, anytime. But it will only flourish once it is built into the apps we use every day. That is why we are doing something about it.

What Time Is It? Time2Build ⚡️

Introducing ====, a global challenge for developers to bring bitcoin to open-source apps.

Starting October 7, builders everywhere can use the Breez SDK to add bitcoin to existing projects. From November 16, they work with maintainers to get that code merged. Successfully merged projects are eligible for judging and have a chance to win a share of a $25,000 prize pool, with winners announced January 8, 2026.

is not another hackathon or bounty. Hackathons end. Bounties fade. This is about planting open-source seeds in the software that powers everyday life, and building a monetary layer that is as open and unstoppable as the internet itself.

Why Now?

Builders have always seen Bitcoin’s potential but lacked the tools. Now we have them.

With the Lightning Network, we have a common language to connect the Bitcoin superhighway to the various last-mile technologies that amplify its utility, such as Spark and the Liquid Network. With SDKs like Breez’s, integration is simple for any developer, even without prior Bitcoin experience, turning what used to be months of work into a matter of hours.

And the timing could not be better. As cash disappears, so do its benefits: instant settlement, peer-to-peer transfer, permissionlessness. Bitcoin brings them online. The tools are here. The question is not if you can build with Bitcoin, it is what you will build.

What You Can Build?

Moving value online shouldn’t be limited to just financial applications. Think (way) bigger.

What if every app, every service, every platform could move value as easily as it moves information? That’s the future you’re building: messaging and social apps that send sats like a DM, real-time tipping to content creators, musicians, and podcasters, or power crypto wallets with Lightning. The possibilities are endless.

Bring bitcoin into any experience and unleash value transfer like never before.

Who’s Building?

More than 50 developer communities, from Nigeria to Mexico, Argentina to Austria, Lugano to London, are already part of it. They share one conviction: value should flow as freely as information.

Partners include Tether, Lightspark, Plan ₿ Network, Fulgur Ventures, and Geyser. There are residencies with PlebLab in Austin and Draper University. Submissions will be reviewed by a global panel of industry builders.

Together, they are proving that bitcoin is not just something to HODL. It is something to build on, build with, and build for.

The era of building starts now. With builders. With open source. With you.

It is Time2Build.
