Apple’s latest operating system update, iOS 18.2, is rolling out today for iPhones and iPads.
Millions of users are already waiting for the software update notification. The update will be released in phases, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
That means you’ll have to wait until 1 p.m. in New Jersey before you can update your iPhones and iPads.
But that doesn’t mean you’ll see it at exactly 1 p.m.; Apple is gradually rolling out updates to better manage demand.
Among the notable features in iOS 18.2:
Apple Intelligence upgrades for creating custom emojis, generating images from text descriptions, and an integration of ChatGPT with Siri.
The updated design of the Mail app automatically groups emails into tabs based on content and includes AI tools to assist with message authoring.
The Find My app update lets you share AirTags’ location with other people, making it easier to track objects while traveling.
The update is compatible with iPhone 11 and newer phones; iPadOS 18.2 is compatible with iPad Pro and Air (3rd generation and later), iPad (7th generation and later), and iPad mini (5th generation and later).
