I WAS one of the first to get hands-on with Google’s brand new Pixel 10 smartphone at a star-studded launch event last week.
US TV chat host Jimmy Fallon led the live unveiling, with appearances from NBA all-star Stephen Curry, singer Nick Jonas and British racing driver Lando Norris, among others.

After the show I got to see the Pixel 10 series in action with my own two hands.
While we don’t have a review just yet, I do have some early thoughts on the latest additions – and why I believe they’re the best yet.
Of course, I can’t confirm how good those features are until they’re fully put under testing with an in-depth review – which will follow on The Sun soon.
But what I can say after a brief hands-on with the Pixel 10 series is the changes seem to focus on quality over quantity.
Don’t expect to notice a massive difference in the design, they all look pretty identical to the previous versions.
The display is brighter though.
What will make a difference is the new funky range of Pixelsnap accessories.
This opens you up to a whole world of magnetic Qi2 chargers, stands and cases, much like Apple’s MagSafe.
However, these come at a sacrifice your friends and family will miss.
Battery Share is officially dead.
The feature was a hugely handy feature that allowed you to share your phone’s power with anyone running out of juice – and even charge wireless earbuds too.
Some users may not care too much about this (especially as it only really helped others and not yourself) but it’s an option I’m sad to see go.
On the new stuff, I’m really keen to try the scarily good Pro Res Zoom that can go up to 100x.
This uses a variety of AI and other hi-tech improvements to deliver blisteringly clear shots from afar.
An example from Google itself shows a car looking remarkably sharp (which you can see in the video).
However, we’ll have to see for ourselves how well they fare for everyday users in our review testing.
It’ll be available on all of the Pro Pixel 10 models (the Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold).
Another positive for these three models is that you get one year of Google AI Pro included free.
But crucially, price – all four Pixel phones have the same retail price as last year.
These start from £799 / $799 – and can be reduced further if you trade in your old smartphone.
