Will the Amiibo be more expensive?

Since the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2, players’ concerns are growing up with its Price, and the overall sum that will have to be invested in this rather greedy new ecosystem. If the physical and dematerialized games are retrocompatible, it will still be necessary to pay a few tickets to afford the accessories and titles optimized for the console.

But what about amiibo? It’s been three weeks already, and Nintendo has not given any news of this special feature, which will follow players from one generation to another. Since premium games (type Mario map) go from € 59.99 at € 89.99and that the console itself displays a price close to the PS5, it is legitimate to wonder if the Amiibo will also experience inflation. We have a first element of response thanks to the next American outings.

10 more dollars for each figurine

Indeed, Nintendo recently announced two sets of new amiibo figurines, inspired by Street Fighter 6 and The Legend of Zelda. For the first franchise, we find the three characters Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly, while for the second, four Amiibo are offered in the image of Riji, Sidon, Yunobo, and Turin. Usually displayed at a price of $ 29.99 (Street Fighter 6) and $ 19.99 (Zelda), accessories are now 10 dollars more expensive on the sites of certain resellers.

Walmart, Best Buy and Gamestop offer them at $ 39.99 for figurines SF6 and $ 29.99 for Zelda. Suffice to say that to have the complete collection, you will have to spend nearly $ 240. For the moment, we do not know if this price increase will also be effective in France, and if so, how much we will have to spend more to compensate for our biggest taxes. You can already expect an invoice exceeding 250 €.

Will Nintendo confirm the price increase?

It is also not known whether this price increase is an individual approach on the part of resellers or if it will be the new tariff standard. It seems unlikely that the cheapst stores in the United States have made the decision to raise the prices of themselves, but nothing has yet been confirmed by Nintendo. It will therefore be necessary to wait for official communication from the manufacturer, or the pre -order of the Amiibo, to be fixed on their prices.
