Johnson is often upbeat on social media where he posts inspirational and positive updates for his millions of fans.
But this time DJ had some somber news as he announced the death of his beloved dog Hobbs.
The 10-time world champion adopted the French bulldog with his late brother Brutus in 2015.
Unfortunately Hobbs’ sibling died shortly after being welcomed into the Johnson family as he ate a highly toxic mushroom in the backyard.
And sadly the ex-WWE Champion is now left “numb” by the loss of his other pet.
The People’s Champion paid an emotional tribute to Hobbs, who left “quietly” and “bravely” without suffering long.
The Rock posted on Instagram: “I’ve been numb over this loss, but we’re so grateful for every ounce of pure love he gave our entire family and we’re so grateful he didn’t suffer long as he quietly and bravely left in the night.
“Lately, there’s been a lot that’s too big to talk about. Lonesome, lonely, heard it’s all the same.
“One of my favorite songs felt appropriate here, as I wonder what’s going on his new world, because I know what it’s like in mine.
“Not sure how spirits work but come back and visit every once in a while so we can get in trouble and laugh again.”
The Rock recently returned on WWE TV last Friday night on SmackDown where he tried to convince Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to join forces ahead of WrestleMania 41.
Rumours suggest The Final Boss could return to the ring at WrestleMania for a dream match against cousin Roman Reigns.
