Musk presents Xai as “one of the laboratories of the leaders in the world”, although he is still far from his main rival. OpenAI reached an assessment of 157,000 million dollars in 2024 and could reach 300,000 million with the support of SoftBank. Chatgpt remains the reference, although XAI has updated Grok with functions such as image generation and their own mobile application.
What changes with the acquisition? According to Musk, the operation will allow “combining data, models, computer, distribution and talent.” In practice, integration was already evident: Grok was integrated into X for months. What changes is the legal and corporate structure.
