The last few weeks have been intense for Microsoft. After the announcement of the departure of Phil Spencer, then of Sarah Bond, who was to succeed him (but who clearly did not seem to be unanimous internally), the Gaming branch of the Redmond firm was placed in the hands of the new CEO: Asha Sharma.
A new CEO who had a complicated start, in particular because of her Twitter and Xbox accounts, suspected of being fake profiles on the part of many players and fans.
After this very eventful period, Microsoft, Xbox and Asha Sharma decided to move up a gear this evening by announcing le Project Helixthe new generation of Xbox consoles.

So, be careful, this is not the name of Microsoft’s next consoles. This is the name of the project, as was the case with the Project Scorpio for Xbox One X, for example.
In any case, this is the start of the next-gen project. On her account, the new CEO of Xbox, Asha Sharma provided some additional details.
Great start to the morning with Team Xbox, where we talked about our commitment to the return of Xbox including Project Helix, the code name for our next generation console.

Great start to the morning with the Xbox team, where we talked about our commitment to the return of Xbox, including Project Helix, the code name for our next-gen console. Project Helix will lead in performance and play your Xbox and PC games. I look forward to discussing this more with partners and studios at my first GDC next week!
Microsoft and Asha confirm that this new console will be able to play both Xbox games and PC games. Obviously, the first details will be revealed to partners during the Game Developers Conference next week. Concerning the general public and the official announcement, we will undoubtedly have to be a little more patient. Everything suggests that Microsoft is targeting a 2027 releasethings should therefore accelerate during the year. Maybe at Summer Game Fest or the Game Awards.
