The Xiaomi 16 series will be among the first smartphones worldwide to debut Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite processor, according to a post on X by @heyitsyogesh. Qualcomm is expected to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite on Sept. 23 during the Snapdragon Summit. Manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm process, the chip will feature a “2 prime core + 6 performance core” architecture and reach clock speeds of up to 4.61 GHz. Expected to launch between Sept. 25 and 30, the 16 series will also offer a 6.3-inch 1.5K LTPO flat display, a 7,000 mAh battery, and a triple 50MP camera setup. [TechNode reporting]
