There’s a lot to watch, with new stuff added every day, so I picked out the three best choices for the weekend and the week ahead. Tweens will rejoice, as Zombies returns. Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires (Disney+, July 11)
If you’re not familiar with Disney’s smash made-for-TV-movie series Zombies, think High School Musical with more implied brain-eating. Set at Seabrook High School, where half the students are the walking dead, the odd couple romance between Addison and Zed sees twists and turns throughout four flicks. The latest one sees our leads on a summer road trip that takes a detour to a camp populated by vampires and daywalkers.
The Amateur (Hulu, July 17)
Rami Malek stars in this spy thriller that you might have missed in theaters. In The Amateur, Malek is Charlie Heller, a CIA desk jockey lending his analytical abilities to agents in the field. But when his wife is killed in a terrorist attack and the agency won’t devote resources to finding the perpetrators, he goes rogue and uses his unconventional skillset to take down the bad guys himself.
Baylen Out Loud (Hulu, July 17)
TLC’s huge slate of reality TV can feel a little exploitative, but it’s hard not to love Baylen Out Loud, the network’s recent hit about a young woman with Tourette’s syndrome learning to navigate the adult world with the help of her extremely patient family. She’s a viral sensation with millions of TikTok followers thanks to her bizarre and hilariously profane outbursts.
