Netflix’s library is about to get a little lighter. Dozens of must-watch movies are leaving the platform at the end of October as Netflix freshens up its catalogue for the new month ahead. You only have a few days left to catch iconic franchises like “The Fast and Furious” and “Jurassic Park” before they’re gone, along with many more.

To make sure you don’t miss out on the best movies leaving Netflix this month, I’ve rounded up my top picks that deserve a spot on your watchlist. That includes everything from classic blockbusters for a dash of nostalgia along with more recent hits from visionary directors like Guy Ritchie and Guillermo Del Toro.

So without further ado, here are the 11 best movies you need to watch before they leave Netflix. You can stream each one on Netflix until November 1, 2025.

The “Fast & Furious” movies come and go from Netflix like the seasons, and this winter is going to be a particularly dark one if you were hoping to revisit the popular street-racing series. As one of Hollywood’s biggest blockbuster franchises, it’s packed with high-octane thrills, over-the-top stunts, sleek cars, and Vin Diesel monologues about the importance of family.

Whether you’re looking to get behind the wheel with Dom and co. for the first time or you’re an experienced driver already, you have until October 31 to watch the first seven films: “The Fast and the Furious,” “2 Fast 2 Furious,” “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” “Fast Five,” “Fast & Furious 6,” “Furious 7,” and the spin-off “Fast &Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.”

Before it became a hit Netflix series, “The Gentlemen” film marked a long-awaited return to form for director Guy Ritchie. It plays like a highlight reel of Ritchie’s signature style between its nonlinear storytelling, razor-sharp dialogue, and cast of unforgettable characters.

Matthew McConaughey stars as Mickey Pearson, an American entrepreneur who built a lucrative marijuana empire in London. When he decides to pack it in for an early retirement, several dangerous players, including the notorious mobster “Dry Eye” (Henry Golding), try to steal his domain out from under him. It goes about as well as you might expect.

Another of Hollywood’s most iconic franchises, “Jurassic Park,” is saying goodbye to Netflix too. All three of the original “Jurassic Park” movies from the ’90s will leave Netflix on October 31, but don’t be surprised to come across them in the streamer’s catalogue a few months from now. Netflix has added and removed the OG trilogy more times than we can count.

The story that’s every bit as nostalgic as you remember, the original “Jurassic Park” follows eccentric billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), who figures out how to bring dinosaurs back to life. He dreams of opening a Disney-style safari theme park featuring real, living dinosaurs. Of course, if everything went according to plan, there wouldn’t be half a dozen sequels.

Watch On

I’m sad to see one of my all-time favorite sci-fi movies, “Pacific Rim,” leaving Netflix so soon. Director Guillermo Del Toro imagines a cyberpunk alternate reality where humanity is at war with giant monsters known as Kaiju that emerge from an interdimensional rift. To fight the invasion, humanity built its own equally colossal robots called Jaegers.

Nearly ten years after the first Kaiju set foot on Earth, the tide of battle is turning against humanity. With hope fading fast, Marshal Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba) risks it all on a battered former Jaeger pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and his adopted daughter Mako (Rinko Kikuchi) to stop the Kaiju threat once and for all. “Pacific Rim” is giant mechs punching monsters in the face — what more could you ask for?

Watch On

Dennis Dugan’s sports comedy “Happy Gilmore” has been on again/off again with Netflix since its long-awaited sequel “Happy Gilmore 2” arrived over the summer. Come the end of October, they’re once again splitting ways. So be sure to wave goodbye to Carl Weathers and Abraham Lincoln while you can.

Adam Sandler stars as the hot-headed Happy, an ice hockey player whose temper and ice-skating skills keep him from going pro. When he learns his grandmother’s house is about to be repossessed, he’s desperate to help and discovers that his killer slapshot could earn him bank playing golf. With the help of his mentor, Chubbs (Carl Weathers), Happy sets out to dominate the pretentious golfing elites, like Christopher McDonald’s Shooter McGavin, and take home enough prize money to stave off the IRS.
