45% of companies with a high degree of maturity in AI maintain their operational projects at least 3 years

According to a Gartner survey, the 45% of those responsible for companies with a degree of maturity in the high maintains its operational artificial intelligence initiatives during a minimum of three yearswith the aim of guaranteeing a sustained impact and value. It is something that only 20% of companies that have a low degree of maturity in AI.

In addition, the survey revealed that the choice of AI projects based on business value and technical viability, together with the establishment of solid governance structures and practices, guarantees the longevity of AI projects in organizations with a high degree of maturity in AI.

In the survey, conducted a few months ago among 432 companies from several countries, it was revealed that in 57 % of organizations with a high degree of maturity in AI, the business units trust and are prepared to use new artificial intelligence solutions. This only happens in 14% of organizations with a low degree of maturity in AI.

According to Birgi Tamersoy, Gartner Director Analyst«Generating confidence in the generative solutions is essential to promote its adoption and, since adoption is the first step to generate value, significantly influences success«.

Regardless of maturity in the company, among the main challenges of the implementation of AI are the availability and quality of the data. This is stated by 34% of organizations leaders with a low level of maturity in AI, and 29% of companies with a level of maturity in high AI.

In the case of the latter, 48% of leaders identified security threats as one of the three main obstacles to implementation. For 37% of the leaders of organizations and companies with a low degree of maturity in AI, one of the main obstacles was to find the appropriate use.

In addition, 91% of business leaders with a high degree of maturity in AI have already appointed responsible for AI. As part of their functions, artificial intelligence leaders give priority to foster innovation in this technology (65 %), provide infrastructure for it (56 %), create organizations and equipment dedicated to it (50 %) and design its architecture (48 %).

The survey has also revealed that Creating metrics contributes to the effectiveness of AI. Organizations with a high level of maturity in AI can achieve a lot of impact on their projects over time because they regularly quantify the benefits of their initiatives and evaluate success through multiple metrics.

In addition, 63 % of organizations leaders with a high level of maturity perform financial analysis of risk factors, analyze the return on investment and measure the impact on customers concretely, which in turn helps them maintain the success of artificial intelligence. And almost 60 % of business leaders with a high level of maturity in high school claimed to have centralized their AI strategy, governance, data and infrastructure capabilities to increase coherence and efficiency within their organization.
