A POPULAR dining chain known for its hearty food and casual atmosphere is expanding, and there’s not long for locals to wait.

The newest location is gearing up for a grand opening in a matter of days and will host giveaways, free meals, and make a charitable community donation.

It’s good news for those in Alabama but rival Chilis may not be so happy.

Outback Steakhouse is set to officially open its doors in Phenix City on May 20.

The venue will welcome guests with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m.

This marks a first in the arrival of the beloved steak chain to the area.

Outback Steakhouse joins several other eateries on the block, including a Chipotle, Popeyes and Waffle House.

For steak lovers, this popular and hearty chain is a welcome addition to the chicken-esque strip.

To celebrate the opening, the first guests through the doors can snag a variety of free goodies while supplies last.

These freebies include appetizer cards, Joey Meal vouchers for kids’ meals on future visits, as well as Outback-branded merchandise like hats, cups, sunglasses, koozies, and more.

As one of Chili’s top rivals in the casual dining scene, the steakhouse is known for its bold flavors, signature steaks, and crowd-pleasing dishes.

Outback continues to be a go-to destination for casual family dining and relaxed meals out.

Beloved burger chain opens first restaurant in over 10 years – and 200 more are in the works

Spanning just over 4,600 square feet, the new restaurant features a spacious dining room and bar area inspired by Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

Inside the restaurant, it offers seating for up to 187 guests.

As a nod to the local community, the interior design incorporates art and details that reflect some of Phenix City’s best-loved attractions.

Diners will find imagery of the Lakewood Park waterfall and scenes from the famous Chattahoochee River.

The opening is expected to bring roughly 100 new jobs to the area.

In line with that community spirit, the restaurant will also donate $5,000 from its grand opening proceeds to Freedom Farm Crossroad.

Freedom Farm Crossroad assists children, young adults, and families facing difficult times and is especially important for many Americans today.

This new opening marks another step in Outback’s steady journey towards regional growth.

Just last month, the opening of its Pell City location marked an alternative option to the Whataburger located in the same retail park.

Phenix City’s newest dining spot is set to draw a crowd when doors open on May 20.

This comes after the chain announced it would be trimming back its extensive menu back in February.

And, another beloved restaurant chain recently confirmed 30 new locations will open up in 2025.
