A hop across Washington state will get a little easier next week with the start of daily flights between Seattle’s Boeing Field and Spokane’s Felts Field from regional airline SeaPort Airlines.

The air travel option, starting March 9, could potentially link commuters out of the Seattle region’s major tech hub with companies and clients building out the tech scene in Eastern Washington. GeekWire reported on the innovation ambitions of the Inland Northwest in 2024 for our “GeekWire on the Road” series.

SeaPort plans eight daily flights — two morning and two evening roundtrips — between Boeing Field and Felts Field. The company says that flying in and out of the small, centrally located airports is a big win over the hassle of larger airports.

“The Sea-Tac mega airport has outgrown short-hop travel in the Pacific Northwest. The solution is 100 years old, and it’s under our noses. It’s Boeing Field,” SeaPort co-founder and CEO Kent Craford said in a news release.

He said that while Alaska Airlines becomes a “competitive global airline,” SeaPort is ready to step in as the Pacific Northwest’s regional airline.

The company began flying between Boeing Field and Portland International Airport last year and now offers up to 16 shuttle flights per day on that route.

Craford said the use of Boeing and Felts Fields is about “fast, hassle-free travel,” thanks to short trips from both cities’ downtowns, free parking, and being able to skip unpredictable TSA security lines.

“It’s time to stop reserving this amazing transportation asset for just the private jet-set and start making it available for everyone,” Craford said of Boeing Field.

SeaPort Airlines is a division of the Juneau, Alaska-based Kalinin group of regional airlines, which include Alaska Seaplanes and Island Air Express. SeaPort Airlines was first launched in 2008 and re-launched in 2025.

The company says ticket prices for the new flights between Seattle and Spokane will start at $299 one way. SeaPort is offering a 32% discount on fares through April using promo code SFF32 in honor of the 1932 Felts Field terminal building.
