RENSSELEAR, NY (WRGB) — The Rensselaer Fire Department is getting a software upgrade thanks to the Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office.
District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly has awarded the city funding to purchase Blazestack Fire Investigation software.
The cloud-based fire investigation and case management software will help streamline the investigation process through on-scene collection, allowing fire investigation teams to collect evidence, photographs and notes on-site after a fire.
The software will significantly improve investigation documentation and case prevention, which will benefit both investigation and prosecution results, the Public Prosecution Service says.
Financing for this acquisition was provided through forfeiture funds.
“The initiative reflects an ongoing collaboration between the Public Prosecution Service and the local police
