A Miguel Terceros penalty did the trick — as was the case in Thursday’s semi-final victory over Suriname. The Santos winger has now scored eight goals in 12 World Cup qualifying appearances. It’s also been the making of 18-year-old Moises Paniagua.
The absence of Iraq skipper and goalkeeper Jalal Hassan due to injury, will provide all the encouragement Terceros and Paniagua need, but equally, Bolivia have conceded in all but one of their last eight games. Aymen Hussein has also scored eight times in qualifying so far, while Mohanad Ali has three in his last five internationals.
The winning team will slot into Group I, with France, Senegal and Norway.
