Recently, Apple CarPlay has been receiving a new wave of useful apps that users can now take advantage of on the go. For example, WhatsApp is now testing an official CarPlay release, while iOS 26.4 improves support for AI features in CarPlay. Now, the latest app to become available on CarPlay is Google Meet, which has arrived for Apple’s driving interface before Google’s own Android Auto platform. With that, users can now safely attend meetings even when driving.

Google says that this update lets users access Google Meet right from the car’s dashboard. Previously, users would have to open the Google Meet app on the iPhone and then connect the app through the vehicle’s speakers to attend a meeting via the car’s infotainment system. Now, it’s possible to join a call much more seamlessly. Thanks to its functionality, Google Meet has now joined the list of bizarre Apple CarPlay apps you didn’t know existed. The app’s interface lists all meeting invites in one place, so all you have to do is tap on the relevant entry to join.

Here’s how to get and use Google Meet for Apple CarPlay

According to Google, the app should start appearing on the Apple CarPlay interface in the coming days, as long as you have it installed on your iPhone. The rollout started on March 23, and the company says it can take up to 15 days for the software to become visible to everybody. That said, as long as you have Google Meet on your iPhone with an account logged in, you’ll probably see the new Meet app soon. If you don’t see it, updating your iPhone and Google Meet app to the latest versions can help.

Google says that drivers can join meetings with a single tap, view the upcoming schedule, and participate in audio-only calls. It’s worth noting that users can’t keep their cameras on, even when parked. Additionally, it’s also impossible to see the video feed of other participants on the call. The new Google Meet app is available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts. For those on Android Auto, Google is expected to release a compatible version soon, although it’s unclear when exactly it’s going to happen.
