GXO Logistics, a New York-listed pure-play contract logistics provider, will launch a new accelerator programme supporting startups from the UK and Ireland.
Based in Connecticut, US, GXO Logistics is an $11bn group that manages distribution centres for large corporates and handles ecommerce fulfilment and reverse logistics.
The company on Tuesday announced the launch of GXO Accelerator, described by the group as an “open innovation programme” that will aim to identify, test and scale new technologies for the logistics sector in the UK and Ireland.
“Supply chains are evolving rapidly, and collaboration with innovative technology partners is essential to staying ahead of that change,” said Paul Durkin, chief operating officer for the UK and Ireland at GXO.
“GXO Accelerator will give innovative technology companies the opportunity to work directly with our teams to tackle real operational challenges and demonstrate the value their solutions can bring to logistics operations today and tomorrow.”
The programme will see the selected companies participate in a 12-week cohort in collaboration with GXO team members exploring real world logistics settings and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and sustainability across supply chains.
GXO said the programme will focus on the themes of defence and infrastructure logistics, digital transport and future workforce.
