Samsung’s next foldable launch could be just around the corner.

A new report suggests the company is planning a summer Unpacked event on July 22. At this event, it will unveil the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 alongside a new, rumoured “Wide” foldable.

According to the report, the event will take place in London. This continues Samsung’s recent habit of moving its major launches across global cities rather than sticking to a single location. Previous foldable announcements have landed in Seoul, Paris and New York. Therefore, a UK debut would fit neatly into that rotation.

While the focus appears to be on the Fold 8 and the mysterious “Wide” variant, it would be unusual for Samsung not to also include the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8. The company typically refreshes its clamshell foldable at the same time, and there’s also a strong chance we’ll see the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 break cover at the same event.

The more intriguing claim, however, is the potential return of the Samsung S Pen. Samsung dropped stylus support from the previous Fold generation in a bid to slim down the design, but it looks like that decision could be reversed. The report suggests the S Pen may be reintroduced either alongside the Fold 8 or shortly after the unveiling of the “Wide” model.

That would be a notable shift. Stylus support has long been one of Samsung’s key differentiators, particularly for productivity-focused users, and its absence was felt on last year’s device. Bringing it back would signal a renewed focus on versatility. Even so, it means balancing design trade-offs once again.

There may also be competitive pressure at play. With rivals in the Android foldable space continuing to embrace stylus input, and rumours of Apple exploring foldables, Samsung could be looking to strengthen the feature set of its flagship foldables ahead of increased competition.

For now, nothing is official. But if the July 22 date holds, we won’t have to wait long to see how Samsung plans to evolve its foldable lineup.
