Full-HD-Beamer Etoe Seal Pro im Test
The full HD projector Etoe Seal Pro attracts with Android 11, a high brightness of 1000 ANSI lumens and extensive features at an affordable price. We tested it.
The Full HD projector Etoe Seal Pro promises a high brightness of 1000 ANSI lumens, a sharp Full HD image, Android 11, automatic image corrections and lots of ports. In this test we take a closer look at the optics, workmanship, hardware, image, software and price of the Etoe Seal Pro. We show what the projector has to offer and whether it is a recommendation despite its low price.
How does the Etoe Seal Pro look and workmanship?
The Etoe Seal Pro is quite large and heavy, measuring 22 x 17 x 19 cm and weighing 3.2 kg. There is also a carrying handle with which the projector can be easily transported. Nevertheless, it is only partially mobile due to its size and the lack of a battery. Compact battery-powered projectors such as the Xgimi Halo+ (test report) or the Blitzwolf BW-VT2 (test report) are recommended here.
Visually, the Seal Pro has a simple, unobtrusive design. It is mostly in matt black and is mainly made of plastic. The lens protrudes slightly from the housing, unfortunately there is no cover or bag for protection. There are large plastic grilles at the front and back for the fan’s supply and exhaust air. There are openings for the two integrated 10-watt speakers on the sides.
Overall, the build quality of the Etoe Seal Pro is okay, but not outstanding. There are clear gaps between the housing parts in places. Since the projector usually just stands around during operation and isn’t constantly moved, that’s not a big deal. The Seal Pro does not have and does not need certification against the ingress of dust and water.

What can the hardware of the Etoe Seal Pro do?
When it comes to connections, the Etoe Seal Pro is well positioned. It offers an HDMI 2.1 input for the video signal, to which you can connect a laptop, a games console or a receiver. The USB-A port can be used to play media from a USB stick or to power devices such as streaming sticks. There is also a 3.5 mm jack output for connecting headphones or external speakers.
What is pleasing is that the Seal Pro can also be operated directly on the device using a button bar on the top. This means you don’t necessarily have to rely on the included remote control. Your design is also successful. It fits well in the hand, has a logical button assignment and offers dedicated buttons for accessing YouTube, Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video. It also has a microphone for voice control.
Something strange: Although the remote control is connected to the projector via Bluetooth, which is necessary for voice control, normal input is made via infrared. So you always have to aim the remote control at the projector, which is a bit inconvenient. There is also a slight delay of about half a second when typing.
Otherwise, the Seal Pro supports Wi-Fi at 2.4 and 5 GHz as well as Bluetooth 5.1 for connecting to external accessories. An ARM Quad 64-bit Cortex-A53 processor works inside, which is supported by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. Screen mirroring is possible using Mirror Cast, for example to transfer content from a smartphone or laptop to the projector.
The external power supply, which keeps the heat out of the case, delivers a maximum of 180 watts of power.
How good is the image of the Etoe Seal Pro?
The Etoe Seal Pro delivers a sharp and bright Full HD image at 1920 x 1080 pixels. The brightness is exceptionally high for this price range at 1000 ANSI lumens. If you want something a little brighter and cheaper, you can take a look at the Wanbo X5 (test report). This means that the Seal Pro can still be used well even in rooms with some residual light. Of course, the picture is best in a completely darkened room. The high brightness also ensures that the image does not fall off too much towards the edges.
The projector uses a 4.4-inch LCD panel and achieves a dynamic contrast of 3000:1. Overall, the image appears to be rich in contrast and the colors are strong. Some users report a slight gray haze that makes the colors appear a little pale, but we couldn’t notice this in our test. The projector also supports HDR10 for sources with an extended contrast range.
The native aspect ratio is 16:9, 16:10 and 4:3 can also be set optionally. The projection ratio is 1.22:1, and the projection distance is quite flexible at 1.1 to 5.4 meters. This allows image diagonals of 40 to 200 inches to be achieved. The recommended diagonal for an optimally sharp image is between 80 and 120 inches, and the ideal distance between the projector and screen is between 2.16 and 3.24 meters.
The Seal Pro offers various automatic image corrections to ensure a straight image even when the screen is set up at an angle or tilted. The image is always in focus using autofocus, and the keystone correction of ±40° aligns it vertically. A 4-point digital correction is also available. There is also a digital zoom from 50 percent to 100 percent.
These corrections work well overall, but come at the expense of image quality. The projector then has to recalculate the image digitally and no longer achieves the native Full HD resolution. For the best result, you should position the Etoe Seal Pro as straight as possible in front of the screen or wall.
How good is the Etoe Seal Pro software?
The Etoe TV D1221 streaming stick with Android 11 for Android TV is hidden behind a flap on the underside of the Seal Pro. It supports common video formats such as H.265 4K at 60 fps, VP9 4K at 60 fps, AVS2-P2 up to 4K at 60 fps, H.264 4K at 30 fps and MPEG1/2/4.
Thanks to the Android TV interface, the initial setup is quite easy, even without a remote control. You can connect the projector directly to the WiFi and set it up with an Android phone. You then land on the clear Android TV home screen.
The pre-installed apps include YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+, which can be accessed with one click on the remote control. What is pleasing is that these services can be used in Full HD resolution thanks to the external streaming stick. This is not the case with many inexpensive projectors without a stick because they lack the necessary certification. Of course, you can also install other apps from the Google Play Store.
Operating Android TV on the Etoe Seal Pro works smoothly enough, even if there are small delays when making entries via the remote control. To play videos and movies from local USB storage, you need to download VLC player from the store.
In the settings you have access to the usual Android TV options. There are no advanced image settings such as adjusting brightness, contrast or color temperature. Etoe offers a separate menu for the projector functions, in which the projection mode (front, rear projection, ceiling) or the keystone correction can be adjusted. But the options here are also rather limited. Find out more in our picture gallery.

How good is the sound and volume of the fan on the Etoe Seal Pro?
The Etoe Seal Pro has two 10-watt speakers that deliver quite good sound. They are powerful enough to fill a larger room with sound and drown out the fan.
The highs and mids are reproduced cleanly, but the bass could be stronger. Overall, the built-in speakers are suitable for the occasional movie or football evening. For the full home cinema experience with rich sound, we still recommend connecting to an external soundbar (best list) or a Bluetooth speaker (best list).
The Seal Pro’s fan is clearly audible during operation without being intrusive. A certain background noise can hardly be avoided, after all, the waste heat from the bright projector has to be transported out of the housing. Compared to other projectors in this price range, the Seal Pro’s fan noise is still within the acceptable range. If you are very sensitive, you should listen to it before buying to be on the safe side.
How much does the Etoe Seal Pro cost?
The Etoe Seal Pro regularly costs 500 euros. If you buy it on Amazon in the Etoe shop, you can activate a coupon and then only pay 400 euros. The projector is listed at Geekmaxi for 350 euros. With coupon code Z2QPA7DU It only costs 324 euros.
Conclusion
The Etoe Seal Pro is a really good Full HD projector at an affordable price. It boasts a high brightness of 1000 ANSI lumens, a sharp and colorful image and extensive features including Android 11. Thanks to the integrated streaming stick, Netflix and Co. are also possible in Full HD. The automatic image corrections work well, and the variety of connections with HDMI 2.1, Bluetooth 5.1 and USB is exemplary.
The Seal Pro shows weaknesses when it comes to mobility. At over 3 kg without battery, it is quite bulky and is primarily suitable for use at home. The workmanship with its gap dimensions is also not beyond reproach. Operation via the remote control sometimes responds a little slowly. The remote control also partially uses infrared, there is no lens cover or pocket and the fan could be a little quieter.
Overall, you get a lot of projector for the money with the Etoe Seal Pro. If you are looking for a cheap device with bright Full HD projection for occasional film and football evenings and have no demands on mobility, you will get a great overall package here.
