In the practical workshop on securing and hardening Windows servers, you will learn how to harden your Windows server systems efficiently and sustainably. You will gain a comprehensive and practical insight into the concepts of system hardening and learn how to secure Windows Server from the ground up and in a process-oriented manner, what differences exist between manual and central configuration and why hardening via group policies/GPOs is often inefficient.
You will also learn what requirements arise from regulatory requirements and how you can integrate protective measures into your infrastructure.
Interactive and practical exercises
The workshop is highly practice-oriented and combines theoretical units with in-depth exercises, such as the use of the open source tool AuditTAP and the creation of a hardening GPO based on CIS. In addition, you will work on concrete case studies and discuss typical pitfalls in hardening projects. This way you gain practical experience and can apply what you have learned directly to your own work.
