The result is a 3D printed concrete that causes significantly less CO₂ without changing the recipe or technical properties – such as pumpability and dimensional stability. There is a broad partner network behind the project. The client is the Sehne bakery, which will rent the building to the grocer Netto Marken-Discount upon completion. For Netto, the branch in Neubulach is a clear commitment to innovation and resource conservation. The discounter says: “The use of 3D printing shows how innovative technologies can already be used efficiently and more sustainably in store construction today.”
The bottom line is that the supermarket in Neubulach is more than just a building. It is simply proof that automated, fast and more sustainable construction is no longer a dream of the future. With around 292 cubic meters of printed concrete, the project is currently the largest 3D printed building realized in the world, according to Instatiq.
