Faced with the forest fires which have been ravaging the south of France for several days, Tesla has decided to offer free charging in five Superchargers close to the disaster areas.
Large-scale forest fires are ravaging part of the south of France. Repeated heatwaves have led to an increase in fires in Gironde, Landes, Var, Corsica and Hautes-Alpes. As the situation stabilizes, despite a series of outbreaks of fire, Elon Musk’s empire stands out with several emergency measures.

The five Tesla Superchargers with free charging
Tesla has just announced the implementation of free charging in five Superchargers in France. Quite logically, these are the charging stations which are located near the sites most affected by the flames. The offer is valid for all cars that wish to recharge their battery at a Tesla station, even vehicles from other manufacturers. Here is the list of the five stations affected by the emergency offer:
- Ares
- Biganos
- Mérignac
- Bordeaux Lake
- Bègles
Tesla’s offer does not stop at the borders of France. The automotive group also activated free recharge in areas of Spain affected by forest fires, namely Castellón, Sagunto, Fuenlabrada and Majadahonda. In France as in Spain, the offer is valid until August 5, 2026.

The idea doesn’t come out of nowhere. A few days earlier, the Tesla Owners Club France, which presents itself as “the official club for owners” of Tesla of the country, challenged the brand on the social network “temporarily offer free charging to Superchargers in the disaster region to help evacuees”.
At the same time, Starlink, another company in Elon Musk’s empire, offered its help to France. The SpaceX subsidiary said it was ready to activate its Direct-to-Cell emergency satellite service free of charge in France. This device would allow compatible smartphones to automatically switch to the satellite network if terrestrial networks become unavailable. The company is still waiting for the green light from the French authorities, who have not reacted at this stage.
