Duracell takes its first steps in automotive fast charging. While the first terminals will open in the United Kingdom, the American brand will rely on the operator Driivz to manage its network.
Duracell is an American company known worldwide for its copper-colored batteries. The company is nevertheless seeking to diversify its activities to make a name for itself and protect its backs. Since it is a recognized player in the energy supply of everyday objects, we might as well exploit this position by applying it to automobiles. Rest assured, Duracell does not yet plan to compete with Tesla… although. It will certainly not be a question of cars, but of charging stations for electric vehicles.
Maintenance and payment: how Driivz will manage the Duracell network
The first charging stations have been deployed in the United Kingdom since the end of 2025, before possible development in the rest of Europe. Of course, Duracell will not manage its entire network itself. It will use Driivz, a company specializing in optimizing the charging of electric vehicles using its software. Its benefits include accurate billing, easy payments, roaming connectivity, constant monitoring of charger availability and remote troubleshooting.
A simplified user experience thanks to Driivz’s know-how
This is the minimum given the ambitions of Mark Bloxham, the general manager of Duracell E-Charge. He claims that his network “ is designed to set a new benchmark for ultra-fast charging in the UK. This results in maximum uptime, simple pricing and a consistently reliable experience for drivers. “. He then justifies the choice of Driivz by explaining that the operator “ provides the platform needed to scale quickly while maintaining control, performance and business efficiency as the network grows ».
Driivz will also make stations easier for users to access by providing a dedicated app and web portal for the Duracell E-Charge network. Motorists will then be able to locate the terminals, start charging sessions, check the status of their vehicle in real time and pay for the charging, of course. Driivz also ensures that the pricing will be clear with detailed invoices tracing the history of recharges in support, as with other operators.
230 million euros: massive investment for a 100% renewable network
Duracell, for its part, claims that availability is already greater than 99% for its terminals located in strategic locations. This is the case in commercial areas and motorway areas. All electricity supplied also comes from 100% renewable production. The long-term goal is to be among the three best mobility operators in the United Kingdom in terms of quality, reliability and ease of use. More than 230 million euros will be invested over the next ten years to develop the Duracell E-Charge network with chargers ranging from 150 to more than 300 kW.
