AI security: Keep data streams under control
SHARE

The rapidly advancing introduction of artificial intelligence promises enormous gains in efficiency, but poses massive challenges for those responsible for IT security. The unregulated use of AI tools leads to dangerous shadow AI in many companies. Employees often upload sensitive company data or intellectual property to public AI services, which means that it flows uncontrollably and, in the worst case, can be incorporated into external training data.

In addition, in fragmented IT infrastructures, there is often no overview of which systems access which data sets. Without a complete classification, companies risk data leaks and quickly violate regulations such as the EU AI Act or the GDPR. A modern security approach therefore requires zero trust resilience, where all data access is distrusted and only verified sources are released for AI applications.

Three steps to a secure governance strategy

A Computerwoche webcast in cooperation with Veeam on July 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. will show how this control can be implemented. The data security specialist Veeam offers approaches that go far beyond classic backup and enable automated detection and classification of sensitive data in hybrid environments.

In the webcast, participants will learn how to build a viable AI governance strategy in three steps. Veeam expert Eduard Decker explains practically how companies can stop shadow AI and strengthen their resilience. Dr. Thomas Hafen will moderate the live broadcast.
