Qualcomm has just revealed the successor to its flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Considering we’ve been consistently impressed by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the chipset of choice for some of the best Android phones of 2025, the promise of even faster performance from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is seriously exciting.
Although at the time of writing, no phones are readily available to buy with the new Gen 5 chip, many have been announced as coming soon.
We’ve compiled a list of all the confirmed phones that will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, along with the handsets rumoured to feature the powerful chipset.

What is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5?
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is Qualcomm’s recently announced new flagship mobile chip. Qualcomm promises that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will offer a 20% CPU uplift, 35% improved efficiency, and a 37% boost to on-device AI capabilities compared to the previous Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship.
The processor is also the world’s first platform to support APV (Advanced Professional Video), which enables professional-level video production, making it an appealing prospect for content creators.
Which phones are confirmed to run on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5?
Qualcomm has said that Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will be found in flagship phones from the likes of Honor, OnePlus, Oppo, Poco, Samsung, Sony, Xiaomi, ROG, Vivo and many more.
At the time of writing, the following phones have been officially confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5:
- OnePlus 15
- Xiaomi 17 series, including Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max
- Realme GT 8 Pro
- iQOO 15 (although at the time of writing, this phone is only confirmed to launch in India)
- Honor Magic 8 and Honor Magic 8 Pro
RedMagic has also teased that its latest flagship will run on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with more details “coming soon”.
Otherwise, there are many upcoming handsets that, although haven’t been officially confirmed yet, are expected to run on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
These rumoured handsets include the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, although these phones will likely run on a custom version, as per previous years, along with the likes of the Poco F8 Pro.
One phone we know won’t feature the 8 Elite Gen 5 is Oppo’s upcoming Find X9 collection; the firm has confirmed that it’ll feature the competing MediaTek Dimensity 9500 instead.
