Anonymous Mega Millions player has uncashed $1m ticket nearly expired

AN ANONYMOUS Mega Millions player is still sitting on a life changing $1 million ticket yet to be cashed it – but it’s nearly expired.

The lotto hopeful cannot claim the, millionaire title just yet, as they have to come forward as quickly as possible, with only hours left.

For some of the lucky Mega Millions players, they will never reap the rewards of their gamble.

Every year, millions of dollars are lost due to Americans not coming forward with their winning lottery tickets.

This can happen for any number of reasons, like if someone hears that the biggest prizes have gone and get disheartened.

Well this is not one of those cases, given the amazing sum still up for grabs.

KMBC reports that a $1 million ticket is still out there in someone’s pocket in the Mega Millions in the Missouri Lottery.

The ticket was bought in Kansas City, Clay County for the drawing on November 15, 2024.

The winning ticket matched all five white-ball numbers drawn, which were 5, 17, 35, 55 and 69, and it was bought in a convenience store.

COME FORWARD NOW

These five numbers netted the mystery player $1 million, but it hasn’t been as simple as that for lottery officials.

Time is running out for the player to come forward, as winners have 180 days from the day of the draw to do so.

This means that the final deadline for the player to make themselves known is Wednesday, May 14.

Missouri Lottery chiefs have confirmed that if the ticket goes unclaimed, the prize money is transferred to the Lottery Proceeds Fund to benefit public education.

So, while this is the chance for an American to have their life changed, the moment will very soon slip through their grasp.

If you believe you hold the winning ticket with the numbers stated above, you are strongly advised to come forward as quickly as possible.

HOW TO COME FORWARD

You can do this in a few ways, including going to the offices of the Missouri Lottery of calling.

The Missouri Lottery has offices in Jefferson City, Kansas City, Springfield and St. Louis.

In Kansas city, the offices can be found at 3630 Arrowhead Ave.
Independence, MO 64057.

The office is open from 8am to 1pm from Monday to Friday, and then from 2pm to 4.30pm.

States With 6-Month Lottery Claim Windows

Some states have differing deadlines for when lottery players can claim prizes. Most allow a 180-day or one-year window before tickets expire and the money is forfeited. Below are the 180-day states:

It is important to note that the office is only open for claims greater than $600.

So if you happened to net a smaller sum than the $1 million, you will be better off calling in.
