Examples of Apple Intelligence at work.

The fourth round of developer betas has arrived, with Apple trialling another set of builds of iOS 18.5, iPadOS 18.5, macOS 15.5, tvOS 18.5, watchOS 11.5, and visionOS 2.5.

The fourth round of testing for iOS 18.5, iPadOS 18.5, macOS 15.5, tvOS 18.5, watchOS 11.5, and visionOS 2.5 arrived after the third, which landed on April 21. The second appeared on April 14, while the first round for this generation was handed out on March 17.

The fourth iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 developer betas share build number 22F5068a, taking over from the previous build, 22F5053j. The fourth macOS Sequoia 15.5 build uses number 24F5068b, replacing from 24F5053j.

The fourth tvOS 18.5 build is 22L5566a, going from 22L5559d. The fourth watchOS 11.5 build is 22T5567a, moving from 22T5559d, and the fourth visionOS 2.5 build is 22O5467a, from the third’s 22O5459c build.

The first iOS developer beta included a Mail change to enable or hide contact photos, among other Settings changes. However, aside from that, it seems that there won’t be many other big updates this generation, with more of the alterations being performance and bug-related rather than standout visual changes.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly recommend that users avoid installing beta operating systems, or other software, onto any hardware they primarily use from day to day or consider to be “mission critical” in some way. Beta software, by its nature, often contains bugs and issues that can range from being a minor inconvenience to causing a catastrophic data loss.

As always, testers should use secondary or non-essential devices and ensure they have sufficient backups of any critical data.
