UPDATE 10/15: Greg Joswiak, Apple’s SVP of marketing, has teased the M5 MacBook Pro in an X post. “Mmmmm… Something powerful is coming,” he writes atop a “coming soon” graphic that morphs into the letter V, which is the Roman numeral for five. Joswiak also uses the letter “m” five times, further suggesting the imminent launch of Apple’s M5 series of processors.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the M5 MacBook Pro isn’t a major upgrade over the M4 MacBook Pro, but is expected to launch this week alongside an “M5 iPad Pro and a Vision Pro with a faster chip and improved strap.”
Original Story (10/13): Apple launched new iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods last month, but has no plans to slow down. It’s preparing to launch two to three products as early as this week, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports.
Unlike last month’s in-person event at Apple Park, the upcoming announcements will be made online. They will mainly focus on Apple’s latest M5 series processors.
An M5 iPad Pro has been rumored for quite some time and was allegedly leaked in multiple YouTube videos originating from Russia. In addition to improved performance, it is expected to get dual front cameras to satisfy both portrait and landscape use cases. Memory is rumored to get a boost, too, with the minimum RAM set to rise from 8GB to 12GB.
For the Vision Pro, Gurman expects faster performance and a more comfortable headband. The $3,500 headset, unveiled at WWDC 2023 with an M2 chip, hasn’t received an upgrade since.
Both the M5 iPad Pro and the refreshed Vision Pro are in mass production, with launches “imminent,” Gurman adds.
Another product he expects this week is the new MacBook Pro. Since the entry-level M5 chip is already ready for the iPad Pro, Apple could utilize it in its pro-level laptop.
Stores are seeing a shortage of M4-powered MacBook Pros released last year, which is often “a good indication of when a launch is imminent,” Gurman says. Between the two generations, the chip is the only major upgrade, he adds.
Beyond these products, Apple is also reportedly developing the next iterations of the AirTag, HomePod mini, and Apple TV set-top box. Keep an eye out for our full coverage as and when these products launch.
