As reported by Deadline, Gere will join Chastain and Stiller on “The Off Weeks”, an eight-part limited series to be directed by Michael Showalter (The Dropout). Here are the details.
Apple TV lands yet another Hollywood heavyweight
Last year, Apple announced “The Off Weeks,” its third collaboration with Ben Stiller after Severance and Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost.
“The Off Weeks” was also supposed to be the company’s second collaboration with Chastain. However, her show “The Savant” got pulled from Apple TV’s schedule just a few weeks before its premiere, as a result of Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
In “The Off Weeks,” Stiller will play a writing professor who meets Chastain’s character as he’s going through a messy divorce. The duo will also serve as executive producers for the eight-part limited series.
Now, as reported by Deadline, a new Hollywood star has been added to the cast: Richard Gere, who will play a character called Jonathan. Gere will join actors Arian Moayed (Succession) and Annaleigh Ashford (American Crime Story), who were also recently confirmed as cast members.
As of right now, Apple TV hasn’t shared a release window or premiere date for The Off Weeks.
Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking and Silo.
