Can Apple Vision Pro Replace My LG OLED TV? Movies, Gaming, Sports Compared! – YouTube

“Can the Apple Vision Pro replace my 65-inch LG G4 OLED TV when it comes to watching movies, sports and gaming?” is the question that home entertainment enthusiast Phil Rodrigues posed to himself in an experiment for the Tom’s Guide YouTube channel.

A 65-inch LG G4 OLED TV cost $3,500 at it’s original full retail price. The Apple Vision Pro headset cost $3,500, so just around the same as the premium TV. Phil wanted to see which of the two actually offers the better value when it comes to watching action movies, listening to immersive audio, following along with sports and even gaming.

For more context, Phil only spent $2,400 on the LG G4 OLED, since he waited almost a year after it first launched to actually invest, and TV prices often drop significantly as time goes on. Not to mention, many of the best TV deals out there are on OLED TVs.

OLED TVs aren’t known for strong built-in sound performance, though. So Phil also bought the Samsung Q990D 11.1.4 channel soundbar system for $999 (which is actually $1,000 off the original price) to complete his home entertainment setup.

When it comes to matching the experience with Apple Vision Pro, he needed a pair of AirPods Pro 3 to take advantage of spatial listening. Luckily, the latest-gen noise cancelling earbuds are on sale at Amazon.

So all things considered, the Vision Pro system ended up bring pricier than the LG OLED one. But with the Vision Pro promoting cinematic entertainment experiences as a core feature, it was still worth devising some tests to figure out whether it can truly do entertainment as good as a more traditional setup.

I don’t want to spoil the video for you, but i’ll say that Phil came to some surprising conclusions. Give it watch, leave a comment and subscribe to the channel so you’re always in the loop for our latest uploads.
