In a post on X today, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple will make a donation to help with relief efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. Here’s what he said.

Helping with relief efforts on the ground

Apple has a long record of contributing to humanitarian causes, especially in the wake of disasters like Hurricane Melissa.

In past occasions, Apple has made partnerships with the American Red Cross to promote donations from its homepage, and has sold special editions of its products to help with social causes.

Apple also runs an internal program called Employee Giving, which, as of December 2022, had raised more than $880 million through donation matching and other initiatives.

Today, Tim Cook pledged to help with Hurricane Melissa relief efforts, although he didn’t detail how much Apple would donate or announce complementary initiatives, like those made during the LA fires earlier this year.

Here’s what he said:

Our hearts go out to all of those impacted by the destruction of Hurricane Melissa. Apple will be making a donation to help with relief efforts on the ground.

— Tim Cook (@tim_cook) October 31, 2025

If you’d also like to help, the Government of Jamaica has launched a dedicated donation platform with more details available here.
